Working Days Calculator: Business Days Between Dates

Our free Working Days Calculator (also known as Business Days Calculator) helps you calculate the number of working days between two dates, excluding weekends and public holidays. You can also add a specific number of working days to a date to find deadlines and due dates.

Two Ways to Calculate

1. Working Days Between Two Dates

Enter a start date and end date to calculate how many working days fall between them. The calculator automatically excludes weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and can optionally exclude US federal holidays. This is useful for:

  • Calculating project timelines
  • Determining payment terms (Net 30, Net 60 business days)
  • Planning vacation time and PTO
  • Estimating delivery timeframes

2. Add Working Days to a Date

Start with a date and add a specific number of working days to find the end date. This is perfect for:

  • Setting project deadlines
  • Calculating payment due dates
  • Planning shipping and delivery
  • Scheduling follow-ups

What Are Working Days?

Working days (or business days) typically exclude weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and public holidays. The exact definition may vary by country, industry, and company policy. In the United States, standard working days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.

US Federal Holidays

Our calculator includes all US federal holidays. When a federal holiday falls on a Saturday, it's observed on Friday. When it falls on Sunday, it's observed on Monday. The 2026 federal holidays are:

  • New Year's Day (January 1)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day (3rd Monday in January)
  • Presidents' Day (3rd Monday in February)
  • Memorial Day (Last Monday in May)
  • Juneteenth (June 19)
  • Independence Day (July 4)
  • Labor Day (1st Monday in September)
  • Columbus Day (2nd Monday in October)
  • Veterans Day (November 11)
  • Thanksgiving Day (4th Thursday in November)
  • Christmas Day (December 25)
